COVID-19 Read: A Pivotal Weekend Ahead for Rebuilding the Bubble

Students and Employees Returning to Potsdam Campus for the Spring Semester,

Starting this weekend, international students and students from non-contiguous states will arrive on campus to begin their required NYS mandatory quarantines.

The measures that these students are undergoing is a good reminder for ALL students and employees to take added precautionary steps, if you are not doing this already, to reduce the risk of bringing COVID-19 with you to campus and for each of us to do our part to rebuild the bubble.

The CDC shares a number of helpful tips for preventing and stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Some important ways they identify to beat the potential spread are to:

  • Wear a mask to protect yourself and others.
  • Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from others who don’t live with you.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Avoid crowds. The more people you are in direct contact with in gatherings (and the more people in your immediate household are in external gatherings), the more likely you are to be exposed to COVID-19.

The Daily Health Screening tool, at the bottom of every Clarkson.edu Web page is another way we are asking you to check in daily and to remain mindful of the symptoms of COVID-19 that may give an early detection of infection.  (We have also made changes to MAKE IT MUCH EASIER TO COMPLETE!)

As a member of the Clarkson community, we know you know the science behind these steps and care about others.  With comprehensive testing and virus surveillance in place, doing these additional proactive things together rebuilds the bubble for you and your Clarkson campus family.   Thank you all for being a part of this great community.
