Paid Time Off for Covid Vaccines

On Friday, the NY State governor passed a bill that would provide employees in the state paid time off to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, effective March 12, 2021 and expires on December 31, 2022.

Employer Requirements:

  • Provided paid leave not to exceed four (4) hours per vaccine injection
    • Paid at Regular Rate of Pay
    • This is additional paid time and has NO impact to other accrued time

Employee Requirements:

  • Provide supervisor with scheduled date/time of vaccination(s) when possible at least 24 hours advance
  • Clock Out/In of Kronos during scheduled appointment
    • Supervisors will update Kronos to reflect ‘paid COVID leave’
  • Submit Vaccination Proof Card to Human Resources
    • Moderna (2 vaccination shots)
    • Pfizer (2 vaccination shots)
    • Johnson & Johnson (1 vaccination shot)

2nd Vaccination – upload vaccination card into PeopleSoft HR (Homepage under COVID Vaccine Proof)
