Dear Clarkson community member,
As you may know, India is amidst a devastating Covid-19 crisis, seeing ~350,000 new cases and ~2000 deaths per day. The healthcare system is under tremendous strain and there is a shortage of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, medicines, and other life-saving resources that may worsen over the next few weeks.
Clarkson University Graduate Student Association (CUGSA) has collaborated with South Asian Students in the US to lead a relief fundraiser in face of this challenge.
As a fellow Clarkson community member, we would really appreciate it if you could support our efforts. Every dollar towards this effort would help. Please support us in this effort by donating here: https://covid.giveindia.org/southasianstudents/ USD 200 (approx. Rs. 15,000) supports 20-30 people in a community with food and oximeters. USD 500 (approx. Rs. 40,000) helps buy an oxygen concentrator. Please feel to give whatever you can – every dollar helps. We would also be grateful if you could please share this widely with your network so we are able to amplify this campaign.
About the collaboration: This a collaboration of 30+ student organizations (and growing!) across US universities. They have partnered with Give India to support NGOs like Doctors for You, Project Mumbai, on the ground that are helping provide critical equipment and supplies to hospitals and COVID-19 care centers.
