Masters in Engineering Management Students Enjoy Graduation Ceremony at Clarkson’sBeacon Campus

Clarkson University’s Beacon Institute hosted an Engineering Management (MSEM) graduation ceremony on May 1st. This was the first in-person ceremony since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The Engineering Management graduates presented their capstone projects earlier in the weekend, outlining innovative solutions to challenges facing their employers in engineering-oriented industries including aerospace, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, power, and construction, among others.

President Tony Collins gave the keynote address. He was assisted by Nick Dodge, Associate Director of MSEM, in handing out diploma frames to 16 graduates. Accompanied by their family and friends, students enjoyed a lovely spring day under the graduation tent at the Water Ecology Center patio.

Another 15 graduating students were unable to attend the ceremony. Beacon will host another MSEM graduation ceremony in late July. A third ceremony, held in August, will be in New York City at the American Management Association conference center in Times Square.

Re-engineered to address complex management and leadership issues in the technical environment, the Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program emphasizes a curriculum focused on providing graduates with the unique skill set needed to lead in a fast paced, dynamic environment. The MSEM degree is an applied program that utilizes a blended learning and a cohort-based model to immerse students in a true learning community. This model leverages the combined experience of the group, creating an environment where students and faculty learn through collaboration and sustained discourse that focuses on the real time application of learning. https://www.clarkson.edu/graduate/engineering-management
