What is Badging?
Clarkson Ignite, in partnership with the Beacon Institute, is leading the effort to develop a university-wide Digital Badges and Micro-Credentials program at Clarkson. Badges are primarily developed by faculty and staff for students to take in order to specialize and focus their skill set toward their personal and professional goals. For information about badges at Clarkson, please visit https://www.clarkson.edu/badges.
What is a Clarkson Ignite Graduate Fellowship?
The Ignite graduate fellowship program is a two year appointment for a graduate student in any program of study offered at Clarkson. During the fellowship, a student works for Ignite approximately 20 hours per week and attends courses half-time. Fellows receive a full tuition scholarship for up to 19 credits per academic year, as well as a living stipend. During the appointment the fellow will be expected to maintain half-time student status. The badges fellow will be responsible for badge setup, issuance, and analytics, and may also be responsible for promoting badging in and outside of Clarkson, and brainstorming ideas for new badges. The badges fellow primarily interacts with faculty and staff looking to create a badge, the instructional designer who helps build badges and enforce standards, and students inquiring about badges. The badges fellow reports to Ignite’s managing director and consistently works with Clarkson’s Beacon Institute.
