Campus Community: Flextime Time Policy and Telecommuting Update

During the May 2021 General Staff meeting the topic of remote working was raised.  In further discussions with both supervisors and employees, it turns out that there are two distinct aspects to the issue – flexible working conditions (for all) and positions that can be fully remote (for some). Due to the personal interactive nature of our operations and the interactions we strive for while attending a residential university, inclusive of our graduate programs, many students and employees develop and grow through daily interactions and personalized learning components.

During the last month, Human Resources has been working to update our current Flextime Policy to ensure all employees have the flexibility to meet personal and work needs.

The University has identified that within the Office of Information Technology there are positions that are able to be remote within the telecommuting policy.

These policies will be moving through the approval process of the University and will be released in August.  We encourage you to speak to your respective representative on the Faculty Senate or Administrative Council.

Thank you
