Kat Nelson is the new Coordinator of Student Life at Clarkson University.
She received her Associates of Arts from Rochester Community and Technical College, her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and her Masters of Education in College Student Personnel from Ohio University. Kat has a passion for working with student leaders and is excited to support the Clarkson University Student Association and the variety of student organizations and clubs on campus.
Nelson has experience with both student organizations and student government throughout her undergraduate experience and as an Advisor during her graduate studies. She has created student leadership training programs, facilitated goal coaching, and supported advocacy initiatives that facilitated holistic development and created positive campus change for students. Nelson’s individualized advising style and desire to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all students, alumni, and community partners has allowed her to cultivate strong relationships and develop mindful and outstanding leaders.
