Student Employment Process

Have you gotten a new job on campus?

Have you filled out your hiring paperwork?

If not here is what you need to do!

Payroll staff will be in Cheel 202 from August 31 through October 7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and on Wednesdays 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to assist students who will be working on campus.

Your hiring manager should have given you a NYS Wage Rate form. Please bring this completed form and the required documentation listed below to Cheel 202.  Additionally, all students who have never worked for Clarkson University in the past will have to complete an I-9 (this is a required Federal Form) along with other required documents (W4, IT2104, and others).

To complete the I-9 you will need the following documents:

A.      Passport or Passport Card (by itself is acceptable)  OR

B.      If you do not own a Passport or Passport Card, then 2 forms of identification (ID) will be needed. Either:

1)      Original Social security card (not a copy) and photo ID (Student ID or Driver License) OR

2)      Original Birth certificate (not a copy) and photo ID (Student ID or Driver License)

Once you have completed all required paperwork you will be given a student employment authorization form that you must returned to your hiring department.

You CANNOT start work until your Payroll paperwork is completed and you have been given a student employment authorization form and that form is returned to your hiring department.

Please email payroll@clarkson.edu if you or your employer have any questions.
