Christian Felzensztein Appointed Reh Family Endowed Chair at Clarkson University

Christian Felzensztein has been appointed the David D. Reh Family Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership and professor at Clarkson University.

The Reh Family Endowed Chair leads Clarkson’s nationally ranked entrepreneurship program and collaborates with faculty across the institution in the study of entrepreneurship and innovation. 

Felzensztein has more than 20 years of business, teaching, research and consultancy experience on four continents.

His multi-disciplinary research has practical impact for managers and policymakers. He has done expert work on internationalization, strategy and entrepreneurship for the European Parliament in Brussels, the Centre for Strategy & Evaluation Services in London and has advised small firms, universities, incubators and governments in diverse countries. He has also collaborated with diverse start-ups & entrepreneurial ecosystems in New Zealand, Europe and Latin America.

Felzensztein has had external research funding in access of $2.5 million from organizations like the Regional Government of Spain; Massey University, New Zealand; Conicyt Research Council, Chile; Loughborough University, UK; Erasmus+ EU; EU Eurofound, Fondecyt Chile; Conicyt & World Bank; and the Research Council of Norway.

His 70-plus publications appear in top-ranked journals like Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Long Range Planning, International Business Review, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Small Business Management, and Journal of Business Research, among many others.

Felzensztein is associate editor of Multidisciplinary Business Review and Journal of Global Entrepreneurship, and past associate editor of Industrial Marketing Management. He has served as guest editor of issues of Journal of International Entrepreneurship, Industrial Marketing Management, and Academia, Latin American Journal; and as a reviewer of Journal of Small Business Management, International Business Review, and Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, among others.

He was chair of the McGill University International Entrepreneurship Conference; founder-chair for the Global Entrepreneurship Conference in London UK. 

Felzensztein’s previous experience includes work with private-elite business schools in Europe (Spain, Monaco and France). Previously, he was dean’s chair in strategy at Massey University in New Zealand, leading a new internationalization and research efforts; founding-director of the Global Entrepreneurship Development Centre at Kingston University in London UK; and visiting professor at leading institutions in Australia, Canada, Asia & Europe, including ESSEC Business School in Paris.

His international work experience is complemented by previous positions as founder-director of the Research Center for International Competitiveness at University Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI) in Latin America, director of the Graduate School of Business at Universidad Austral in Chile, researcher at Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow, UK; and founder-director of two consultancy firms in Latin America and Europe.

Felzensztein’s received his Ph.D. in marketing/entrepreneurship and master of science in international marketing/business from the University of Strathclyde UK, his MBA and bachelor of science in business & economics from Universidad Austral, and his postgraduate diploma in economic development & entrepreneurship from Weitz Center for Development Studies in Israel.
