Abatement Project Planned for Isolated Areas in the Science Center

In the Science Center, as a result of the pre-renovation testing and inspections, several areas were recognized as requiring attention prior to construction.  Those areas include offices 155, 157, 161, 339 and 349, along with the conference room in 261 and a few corridor locations on the 1st and 2nd floors.

Therefore, on Monday, December 17, our asbestos abatement contractor (AAC) will begin abating these areas.  You will see signs alerting every one of the project being posted as early as next week.

The tenants of these offices are working with us to empty their spaces before the deadline.  Abatement in these offices will not impact the surrounding areas.  Small tents will be installed around the corridor abatements, but space for foot traffic and egress will be maintained.

The abatement project will be completed by the beginning of January.
