Juneteenth is a Celebration of Resilience, Joy and Beauty in the Black community. Though our shared history in the United States is recognised, “Juneteenth is not about enslavement and suffering, Juneteenth is about a spirit of renewal that celebrates freedom and opportunity.” (Sam Collins, historian/co-chair of the Juneteenth Legacy Project.)
Contributions to the Program are welcome in the form of music, art, brief historical presentations, children’s activities, dance, and more!
Volunteers for that day – or the coordinating group – are sought.
Donations welcome, for expenses and the free meal (by Big Spoon Kitchen) that is served to all.
