Fall class schedules for the incoming class of first year and TCS students have been loaded to myCU, and students can view them now. Schedules were created based on each student’s major, and any advanced placement or transfer credit that we’ve received to date. Students may be reaching out to advisors with questions or concerns about their classes – here are answers to some common questions you might receive:
Commonly asked questions:
1. What if a student doesn’t like their schedule?
Due to the complexity of first year schedules, class schedules are only adjusted due to error in course selection, major changes, advanced credit, or other extenuating circumstances. In these limited circumstances, advisors can submit a completed add/drop form to sas@clarkson.edu with the requested corrections.
2. What if a student wants to change their major?
Major changes must be made through admissions until the fall semester starts. Students can find their admissions counselor contact info online: https://www.clarkson.edu/admissions. Class schedules will be adjusted automatically when the student’s major is officially updated.
3. What if I think a schedule is wrong?
If a student thinks their class schedule is wrong, please review their schedule against a “typical” first year student for their assigned major. Please review all transfer/AP credit posted before assuming a schedule is incorrect. If you aren’t sure where to see that info, contact OUA for help (oua@clarkson.edu). Student schedules will be adjusted automatically as additional credit is posted.
If you still think something is amiss, please send an add/drop form to sas@clarkson.edu with the requested corrections.
