SEEKING FACULTY VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ON RESEARCH PROPOSALS!

For the second year, Clarkson’s Institute for STEM Education supports K12 students in North Country schools to participate in the Student Space Exploration Program (SSEP) competition!

The competition has students designing an experiment to study microgravity in space.  The main question they are exploring is:

What physical, chemical, or biological system would I like to explore with gravity seemingly turned off for a period of time to assess gravity’s role in that system?

The winning experiment will travel to the International Space Station; this is not a simulation but a very real spaceflight.  The students are immersed in space science research, a remarkable opportunity for a community.

We are looking for faculty volunteers to serve as content advisors to the student teams and proposal reviewers.  THIS WORK CAN BE DONE VIRTUALLY! If you are interested in either or both of these roles or have more questions, please fill out this Google Form, and someone from our team will contact you. If you have questions, please contact Dr. Seema Rivera riveras@clarkson.edu

Thank you for your interest in supporting STEM Education!
