Clarkson’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) announces plans to upgrade Moodle from version 3.11 to 4.1 in the first half of 2023. Read below for ways to learn more and to get involved. Summer 2023 term courses will be the first to experience the new Moodle version. The new version brings significant feature improvements to site navigation, dashboard, activity completion and course editing. As part of the upgrade, course copies from prior terms will remain on Moodle 3.11 and content will be imported individually as needed. Teachers will note this is a variation from previous upgrades. For a smooth transition, additional details and support will accompany each step. It is important that our communities stay informed.
Community Engagement:
Moodle Project Information:
A Moodle Project intranet page is now published containing information for faculty, students and staff to learn more about project plans including timelines, progress and background information. More information will be added as the project progresses.
Moodle Roundtables:
Register in advance for any of these meetings on Zoom. The project team will host a series of virtual informational sessions. Faculty, students and staff are invited. Sessions will feature an overview of the project plan, project status updates, and demonstrations. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, trial coming features, and provide real-time feedback.
We look forward to these engaging sessions as we learn about our new Moodle environment. Sessions will be recorded.
