After a twenty-plus year history of providing graduate level training in bioethics through the Master of Science in Bioethics program, the Bioethics Department of the Lewis School of Health Science will start a new era of undergraduate bioethics education at Clarkson. Starting in fall 2023, Clarkson University undergraduate students will have the option to complement their major study program with a new minor in Bioethics. A National Endowment for the Humanities Connections grant supported the development of the minor and will sponsor a lecture series to celebrate the launch of the Bioethics Minor. The Bioethics Department will organize 10 lectures, five in spring 2023, and five more in the fall, exposing the Clarkson University community and the public to the broad range of issues that bioethicists engage with and the diversity of methods they bring to them. Program alumna Robin Downing, DVM, MS, PhD, of The Downing Center for Animal Pain Management, will present a talk entitled, “One Health, Ketamine, and the Bioethical Intersection Between Humans and Animals”
The lecture series begins on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at noon EST on Zoom
