Clarkson Alerts and emergency messages are issued using Clarkson’s Rave Emergency Alert System. Students, faculty, and staff are enrolled using their campus email addresses and cell phone numbers (when available). All campus members can add, confirm and/or update their contact information: employees can go to http://go.clarkson.edu/staffalert and students to http://go.clarkson.edu/studentalert
NY-Alert is a separate system maintained by New York State. By going to https://alert.ny.gov/, people who live in New York can subscribe to NY-Alert to receive information and recommendations in real-time by emergency personnel including severe weather warnings, significant highway closures, hazardous material spills and other emergency conditions. All areas of New York State are included in the system, and you can decide which area you would like to receive alerts about. Signing up is free, and messages can be received by phone, email, text and fax.
