Jennifer Ball Promoted to Full Professor on the Teaching Track at Clarkson University

Jennifer L. Ball, Ph.D. has been promoted from associate professor on the teaching track to full professor of history & social documentation in the School of Arts & Sciences. Ball is also the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access at Clarkson.

Ball studied History and Women’s Studies at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She has experience in both the academic and non-profit sectors. Her historical work has focused on Constitutional History and topics in American Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her social documentation and bystander intervention work focused on cultural resonance in training methods as a means of effectiveness.

She has shifted her focus in recent years to utilize her background in history and gender and sexuality studies to focus on the current-day analysis of civil rights compliance and Diversity and Inclusion. She serves on the National Advisory Board of the Association of Title IX Administrators and was a contributing editor to Title IX Today.

Other areas of interest involve dialogical practice and its integration into higher education pedagogy. She is on the Board of the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center to increase their outreach and impact.

Ball serves as a Co-PI on Clarkson STEM LEAF ADVANCE grant. She has been awarded a community action grant from the American Association of University Women and a project grant from the Walker Foundation. She has also received two grants for her work in bystander intervention.
