Pitching Stories to The Conversation

Dear Faculty,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer! I wanted to reach out to talk briefly about our partnership with The Conversation and offer some resources that may encourage you to consider working with them.

Logo, The Conversation

For those who do not know, The Conversation is a nonprofit, independent news organization dedicated to unlocking the knowledge of experts for the public good.

The team at The Conversation works to publish articles written by academic experts for the general public and edited by their team of journalists. These stories are published on their website. Through their Creative Commons license, though, stories in The Conversation are republished in more than 1,000 other online outlets, including the AP Wire, Yahoo! News, CNN, Business Insider, and many more.

As a partner with The Conversation, we have a major opportunity to share our expertise with a broad audience.

The Conversation offers an Author’s Handbook, full of helpful information about working with them. The handbook was recently updated with lots of new insight, and it can be found by clicking here.

I encourage you to take some time to learn more about The Conversation and familiarize yourself with their handbook. I also invite you to reach out to me directly if you have a story you want to pitch or have questions about the process of working with The Conversation. I am happy to help pitch stories and communicate with the team at The Conversation.

Please feel free to email me with any questions or interest in pitching stories. This partnership is a great tool for spreading the word of what happens at Clarkson and why it matters.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
