COMAP’s 2024 International
Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM)
Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM)
Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) and Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM), challenge teams of students to clarify, analyze, and propose solutions to open-ended problems. The contest attracts diverse students and faculty advisors from over 1,500 institutions around the world with roughly 77,000 students competing.
This is THE Boston Marathon of Math Modeling!
We are seeking multiple teams of three students to participate in the 2024 competition. You do not need to be a math major to participate!
The contest will take place starting in the evening of Thursday (February 1) and ending the following Monday (February 5). Participants can use all technology available to them such as computers, libraries, software packages, or any other source.
· The problems are designed to be open-ended and unlikely to have a unique solution.
· A final report must be submitted by 9:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 5, 2024.
· You can receive one course credit in MA401-88 Spring 2024 for training and participating!
· We will meet once/week to train for the competition. Meeting is to be determined
