Black Solidarity Day

Join the Black Student Union (BSU), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Black Leaders Advocating for Change (BLAC), Brother 2 Brother (B2B), and Sister 2 Sister (S2S), with support from the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Office (DEI) for Black Solidarity Day! 

Black Solidarity Day was created by activist, Ambassador, and professor – Dr. Carlos Russell in 1969. He was inspired by a play written by Douglas Turner Ward, “Day of Absence”. The day is meant to highlight the contributions of the Black community within society.

2:00pm – 5:00pm – Tabling of Student Organizations & Local Businesses (Student Center Atrium) 

5:00pm – 6:00pm – Black Leadership Panel featuring faculty & students (Student Center MPRs) 

6:00pm – 7:00pm – Black Jeopardy presented by National Society of Black Engineers (Student Center Forum)

7:00pm – 8:00pm – Bites of Black Diaspora Cuisine (Student Center MPRs)
