Shreejit Poudyal ‘25, an Honors student from Nepal majoring in Data Science, recently received the New York State Organization of Bursars and Business Administrators (NYSOBBA) John G. Karrer Scholarship.
Created in 1993, the NYSOBBA instituted the student scholarship program to recognize students enrolled in a member institution who embody the ideals of the organization through meritorious service in an on-campus business-related activity, through either volunteer work or employment. The John G. Karrer Scholarship is a $1,000.00 award, which is disbursed in two $500.00 payments over the course of the academic year.
A highly involved student leader at Clarkson University, Poudyal is the President of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers co-President and co-founder of the South Asian Students Intercultural Association. He has also served as a Math TA. Poudyal has been involved in research and recently received a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship from Purdue University in summer 2023, where he spent ten weeks studying Mobility Evolution in the US as evidenced by Electric Vehicles. He is also currently pursuing his Honors Capstone project in understanding the macroeconomic impacts of exchange rate fluctuations on South Asian economies.
