The Teaching & Learning Corner (TLC) would like to extend a word of thanks to everyone who acted in support of the goal to ready Spring 2024 courses in Moodle by Thanksgiving. Plus there are a few reminders as we prepare for the coming terms.
Thank you!
We are pleased to report that 436 courses, or 87% of the original goal of 500 courses by Thanksgiving, have now been added in Moodle 4. TLC has worked alongside instructors of each course to import a copy from the former Moodle or support those who wish to import from a prior term or add original content in the current Moodle. Instructors are now ready to work in these courses, and we understand preparations are underway for the coming Spring or Winter Quarter 2024 terms. Thank you for the tremendous effort by these teams.
Reminders:
If you have not yet requested your Spring 2024 Moodle course, please do so now. Our aim is to prevent delays caused by last minute requests through the end of this term and holiday season. Please note: The TLC team will be enjoying well deserved time off during the University’s 2023 holiday closure dates and the University given time off days. For dates, see OIT Holiday Seasonal Notice.
- Please request your Spring 2024 or Winter Qtr 2024 Moodle courses from your Peoplesoft Faculty Center now;
- Reply to the RT email that follows to indicate which specific course you wish to import from Moodle 3.
December 18th is the date faculty are encouraged to open their Spring and Winter 2024 courses to students. In the two weeks leading up to the start of class, many concerned students reach out to the Help Desk looking to access their courses in Moodle. The quick return after the holidays makes this even more important. When their courses are visible, students can confirm their enrollment and prepare for the coming term by accessing any pre-term information you wish to convey. Faculty can select which information students can see, hide all the rest until a later time. So go ahead, and show that course now!
More help available. The TLC provides checklists designed to help you prepare for the coming term. Please take a look and reach out if you need additional support.
