Healthy Water Solutions 2nd Annual Meeting: Call for Session Proposals

The Annual Meeting of the Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions at Clarkson University and SUNY ESF brings together researchers, practitioners, policy specialists and engaged citizens to find collaborative approaches to address current and emerging water issues in New York.  We look forward to seeing you there!

The meeting will be held at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY.  There is no registration fee to attend.

CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS
Due Friday, January 19, 2024

Do you have an active water-related research, monitoring, technology development, or training project or question you would like to engage and inform a larger group on?  

The Center of Excellence is seeking proposals for conference sessions for our 2nd Annual Meeting. The session formats could include a collection of short talks, a panel discussionroundtabletraining, or workshop. Session topics should be water-related, New York State relevant, and be linked to the following areas:  

  • Technology development and research
  • Water science research
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Environmental justice
  • Education and outreach
  • Workforce development and training

Proposals are encouraged from faculty, faculty/student teams, as well as industry, NGOs and government agencies. The proposed sessions would run approximately 80 minutes. There is no registration fee to attend or present at the annual meeting. 

Timeline:

  • January 19, 2024: Deadline for submission of proposals
  • February 2, 2024: Notification on acceptance of proposals
  • March 1, 2024: Deadline for confirmation of all speakers and presentation titles (if applicable)
  • Session moderators will have an opportunity to review a draft of the printed meeting program before it is printed.

In 2019 New York State designated Clarkson University and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry (ESF) to co-lead the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Healthy Water Solutions.

NYS Centers of Excellence are funded by the New York State Department of Economic Development’s Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR) to foster collaboration between the academic research community and the business sector to develop and commercialize new products and technologies, to promote critical private sector investment in emerging high-technology fields in New York State, and to create and expand technology-related businesses and employment.
