Aikido style Iaido (sword drawing) classes starting! 

 ‘The Way of Mental Presence and Immediate Reaction’, is a Japanese martial art that emphasizes being aware and capable of quickly drawing the sword and responding to sudden attacks. This class will teach Ōkaze-Ryū Iaido forms developed with principles from Aikido using bokken (wooden swords). Introductory Class Sun, 1/28/24, 4-5 pm. These classes are offered by the Clarkson Aikido Club, which also offers open-hand classes, with Beginners classes Saturdays 4-5:30 pm. Aikido, ‘The Way of Harmony’, is a martial art that teaches participants how to respond to conflict without resorting to force or more conflict; it teaches the strength to choose peace and harmony. Aikido develops body, mind and spirit and enhances fitness, grace and calm. No prior martial arts experience needed.
