Badger Technologies – A journey into the world of retail robotics!
Jarrett Gayne
Principal Engineer
Jabil Inc. Nicholasville, KY
Abstract: Badger Technologies, founded in 2017, is a subsidiary of Jabil and the largest deployment of retail robotics in the world, with 591 fully autonomous robots deployed. We were founded with the idea that retail corporations could have much better insight into the day-to-day operations of their stores. It has been an amazing journey over the last seven years. I plan to cover the following topics:
· So, you want to create a robot empire to take over the world.
· The data snowball; you can never have too much data, or can you?
· Are the customers ready for robots? Probably not.
· Is the public ready for robots? Oh, hell no.
· Why it might be easier for NASA to put a robot on Mars than us to put one in a Boston grocery store.
So, if this sounds like fun to you, join me for an interesting walk down memory lane and a glimpse into the future of our next generation of robots.
