NASA is asking for help from people in the path of totality during the solar eclipse on April 8th. By downloading the SunSketcher app, NASA will compile images of the solar eclipse from a huge number of devices and use it to generate a more accurate model of the sun’s shape and behavior.
As an engineering student, I believe Clarkson should be well represented in this process!
The only caveat is that you won’t be able to use your phone’s camera for pictures and help in the experiment at the same time. So if you have an older phone or tablet, you can use that instead.
To get started, go to https://sunsketcher.org/ and follow the instructions there. Please encourage friends and family in the path of the eclipse to do the same!”
