Clarkson Knights can spice up their Spring with Latin Beats for a Salsa, Bachata, and Bomba dancing workshop.
Dr. Jeanna Matthews, Clarkson professor and founder of the North Country Latin Dance community, will lead a fundamentals of salsa workshop teaching a variety of dance moves such as shoulder check and hairbrush, and basic steps like cumbia, and a variety of turn patterns. In April, the workshop will include bachata moves and in May the instruction will include bomba.
“You don’t need special clothes or shoes. You don’t need a partner or any previous dance experience. Just show up ready to have some fun moving to some great music,” said Matthews
The Latin Beats: Salsa-dancing workshop is Saturday, April 27 and Saturday, May 25, 4 – 5:30 p.m. at UU Canton. Free! The workshops will be hosted in the UU Canton social room located at 3 1/2 E. Main Street in Canton. Parking is located at the back of the building
