What’s Changing?

Flip’s website and mobile apps will soon be retired; and Flip will be accessible for use only as an app inside Microsoft Teams for Education. This is according to a June 3, 2024 posting on Flip’s X feed and company website. Here are the key dates and changes:

– July 1, 2024: Flip will no longer be available in mobile app stores, and the Flip.com website will transition to view-only mode. You will not be able to create new groups, topics, or videos after this date.

– September 30, 2024: Complete retirement of the Flip standalone apps. You will still be able to download your existing Flip videos until this date.

Looking for Alternatives?

Understanding that this change may impact your current workflows, we are here to support you in exploring educational technology alternatives that suit your needs. As Microsoft Teams for Education is not a supported tool at Clarkson University, we recommend seeking alternatives that are viable methods for you to achieve your goals. The TLC team is currently exploring options.

If you are interested in discussing and evaluating different options, we encourage you to reach out to the TLC via helpdesk@clarkson.edu.

Thank you for your continued dedication to empowering students and for your adaptability in integrating new tools into your teaching practice.
