Clarkson Ph.D. student Atefeh Sadri Mofakham has been awarded the prestigious First Presentation Award at the 245th ECS Meeting, held in San Francisco, CA, from May 26-30, 2024. The ECS Meeting is a major international conference that brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to share their latest findings and discuss advancements in various scientific fields. Mofakham’s award-winning presentation focused on her research in the Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP) division, where she leverages Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to gain valuable insights into the CMP process. Working under the guidance of Professors Jihoon Seo (Chemical Engineering) and Goodarz Ahmadi (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering), Mofakham’s research aims to achieve a deeper understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of CMP through the application of CFD modeling and simulations. Their ongoing work will contribute significantly to this field.
