The NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions is seeking session proposals for its 3rd annual meeting. Proposals are due this Friday, December 20, 2024. Faculty, faculty/student teams, as well as industry, NGOs, and government agencies are encouraged to submit session proposals.
The 3rd Annual Meeting of the NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions will be held on May 20-22, 2025 at the Gateway Center of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. The meeting brings together researchers, practitioners, policy specialists and engaged citizens to find collaborative approaches to address current and emerging water issues in New York.

Do you have an active water-related research, monitoring, technology development, or training project; or a question you would like to engage and inform a larger group on? The session formats could be a collection of short talks, a panel discussion, a roundtable, training or technology demonstration, or a workshop.
Session Proposers (who may also serve as moderators of their session) are expected to organize their sessions, confirm their speakers, titles of presentations, and be available to support the presenters in their group as needed. Please factor in the time and flexibility required to fulfill these responsibilities when submitting a proposal.
Session topics should be water-related, New York State relevant, and be linked to the following general areas:
- Technology development and research
- Water science research
- Environmental monitoring
- Environmental justice
- Education and outreach
- Workforce development and training
Priority topics could include the following but other topics are welcome:
- Climate change
- Harmful algal blooms
- PFAS / persistent chemicals
- Bridging science and policy
Timeline:
- December 20, 2024: Deadline for submission of proposal
- February 7, 2025: Notification on acceptance of proposals
- March 7, 2025: Deadline for confirmation of all speakers and presentation titles (if applicable)
