Pharmacoustics Technologies LLC, in collaboration with the American
Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) through the Innovative
Postdoctoral Entrepreneurial Research Fellowship (I-PERF), is excited
to announce an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This
fellowship offers a unique career pathway for entrepreneurial-minded
individuals holding a doctorate degree, focusing on pioneering
advancements in automation, real-time process monitoring, and
acoustic/ultrasonic analysis within mechanical systems.
The successful candidate will join our dynamic and innovative research
team, contributing to cutting-edge projects that bridge mechanical
engineering with advanced technological solutions. This position is
ideal for individuals with a robust background in mechanical
engineering or related disciplines, coupled with expertise in systems
integration, advanced PLC programming, and sophisticated signal
processing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Automation Development: Design and implement automation solutions for
real-time process monitoring and control utilizing advanced PLC
programming.
Acoustic & Ultrasonic Analysis: Conduct advanced acoustic and
ultrasonic analyses to enhance system performance and facilitate
non-destructive testing.
Signal Processing & Machine Learning: Apply digital signal processing
(DSP) and Machine Learning techniques to analyze complex datasets and
extract actionable insights.
Systems Integration: Integrate hardware and software systems to ensure
seamless operation within dynamic environments.
Application Development: Develop custom applications using LabVIEW and
MATLAB for monitoring and control functionalities.
Collaborative Innovation: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to
conceptualize and develop innovative solutions for mechanical and
real-time systems.
Research Dissemination: Prepare technical reports, deliver
presentations, and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals to share
research outcomes with the broader scientific community.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Automation and PLC Programming: Advanced knowledge of programmable
logic controllers (PLCs) and ladder logic.
Experience with industrial automation systems for managing real-time processes.
Acoustics and Ultrasonics: Expertise in acoustic wave propagation and
ultrasonic testing methodologies. Proficiency in signal analysis
techniques for non-destructive testing and monitoring.
Real-Time Process Monitoring: Familiarity with sensors, data
acquisition systems, and relevant software tools. Ability to
effectively monitor and optimize real-time operations.
Signal Processing: Strong foundation in digital signal processing
(DSP) techniques, including filtering, Fourier analysis, and feature
extraction.
Systems Integration: Practical experience in integrating hardware and
software systems.
Ensuring reliable communication and operational integrity in complex
environments.
Programming and Simulation Tools: PLC Programming, Proficiency in IEC
61131-3 Programming Languages, LabVIEW and MATLAB.
Optional knowledge of Mathematica for developing control algorithms,
simulations, and data analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
a related field.
Experience: Demonstrated experience in automation, real-time

peer-reviewed journals.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
