Face Image Capture (biometric collection)

Dr. Stephanie Schuckers, Clarkson University, is performing biometric research and is looking for subjects willing to participate in the study titled ‘Study of face presentation attacks in indoor and outdoor environments’. Data collection will be conducted in both outdoor and controlled indoor environments to ensure a diverse dataset. Indoor data collection will be carried out in the Cheel arena, where we can control the lighting and background settings. The equipment used for data collection includes multiple cell phones and DSLR cameras with both standard and telephoto lenses. This variety in equipment ensures that the dataset covers a wide range of image qualities and resolutions, reflecting real-world scenarios where different devices are used for facial recognition. This study takes approximately 50 minutes. The collected images will be used to build a dataset for creating spoofs and testing algorithms with spoof data.

We are located in Camp Annex (CA2211).  If you choose to participate, your involvement would involve a single visit taking approximately 50 minutes.

Upon the completion of your visit you will be compensated with $30.  Refusal to participate or deciding to discontinue participation at any time will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.

If you are still interested in participating, please email us at biometrics@clarkson.edu or mochowd@clarkson.edu with days and times that you are available to participate in our research.  Our scheduler will respond back to you to set up an appointment.

This biometric collection protocol has been approved through the Clarkson Institutional Review Board.  Approval #25-01.3.  Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
