Teaching Circle: What do “U” do?

What do “U” do?

The Institute for STEM Education is hosting a three-session Teaching Circle focused on Early Intervention and Retention. What do you typically do to support the students who receive a “U” at midterms? Let’s share what we do in our classes to identify and assist students struggling academically. All sessions are on Zoom and open to any faculty and staff member on campus who would like to share or learn more about what we can do to make Clarkson a more supportive learning environment and meet students where they are. A tentative timeline is below but as usual, discussions are meant to be open and adaptive based on the collective, authentic conversations that evolve.

In case Teaching Circles are new to you, they are intentional communities that share concerns and interests related to teaching. They are safe spaces in which colleagues

(1) generate and share developments related to teaching,

(2) ideate innovations or interventions designed to enhance student learning,

(3) seek scholarly research and resources to inform and support the implementation of trials.
