Important Notice to All Clarkson Employees:
Clarkson University is conducting Information Security training now through the end of May 2025. All Clarkson faculty and staff are required to complete this training.
To complete this training, faculty and staff employees login to Moodle for a 45-90 minute experience which includes viewing several short videos (audio required, closed captions available) and scoring 100% or more on multiple choice quizzes. There is helpful information included to assist you inside the Moodle course.
Information security is of paramount importance in today’s digital age. As we rely more and more on technology, safeguarding our information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction becomes imperative.
The training program will cover various aspects of information security, including:
- How to spot fake emails;
- What data security is and why it is important;
- How to avoid falling victim to social engineering; and
- Keeping yourself and our data safe on social networking and mobile platforms.
Complete Information Security Training:
All employees are asked to complete the training by May 31, 2025. If you need additional time, please reach out to helpdesk@clarkson.edu to make arrangements.

- This course is also available from anywhere you access Moodle. From moodle.clarkson.edu, locate Information Security Training – 2025 on your Dashboard, under Course Overview.
- Option: Potsdam campus classroom computer lab Snell 241 is reserved each Monday and Friday in April, from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm, for anyone who wishes to complete the training there. OIT staff will be available to assist. Be sure to have your Clarkson username, password and Duo device as it is required to access the training.
