Evgeny Katz Awarded Advanced Materials Scientist Medal by the International Association of Advanced Materials

Professor Evgeny Katz was awarded with the Advanced Materials Scientist Medal by the International Association of Advanced Materials in Stockholm, Sweden. The medal was awarded “in recognition of the long-standing contributions to materials science and technology”. The Advanced Materials Scientist Medal awarded to Professor Katz in the area of Biomaterials & Biodevices is the highest honor endorsed by the International Association of Advanced Materials. Professor Katz was invited to give the Medal Lecture at the Advanced Materials World Congress in Stockholm, as a part of the award. The Congress provides an international platform for promoting discussions on sustainability and innovation in advancements of materials, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The medal is awarded once in a year to the most recognized scientists in the Advanced Materials area. Recent international recipients include Claudia Ostertag (University of California, Berkeley), Hendrik Heinz (University of Colorado Boulder), Orlando Auciello (University of Texas at Dallas), Sandro Carrara (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), and Marta Roldo (University of Portsmouth). The award recognizes scientists for their distinct contributions to materials science, engineering, and technology, and typically considers work done in the decade preceding the award. Professor Katz is associated with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and CAMP (Center for Advanced Materials Processing), Clarkson University.
