Prof Masuudl Imtiaz is offering an in-person Graduate-level class, EE 622: Advanced Biometrics, in the summer of 2025. Distant students can join the class remotely.
Course details: This graduate-level course will focus on the field of biometrics. With increasing reliance on the cyber-domain, knowledge of the individual plays a vital role in trusted electronic transactions, whether they be social, professional, or financial. The course will be driven by in-depth review and discussion of papers, as well as a semester-long project. Students will explore a variety of topics within biometrics, including various modalities (fingerprint, iris, face, voice, etc.), multi-modal fusion, image processing, pattern recognition, quality assessment, vulnerabilities, social implications, and performance evaluation.
Class timeline: Tue Thr 11:00 am-1:00 pm (10-week, May 20- July 31)
Components: In-person Lecture on Tuesday, Guest Lecture on Thursday.
Grading component: In-class quiz, three short weekly HWs, and one final project.
