Commencement 2025: RSVP and Regalia Information for Faculty

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are excited to invite you to join us for the 2025 Commencement ceremonies! Your presence at this significant event is highly encouraged, as it is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible achievements of our graduates.

Commencement Ceremony Details:

  • Graduate Ceremony: Thursday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. (Cheel Arena)
  • Undergraduate Ceremony: Saturday, May 10 at 2:30 p.m. (Cheel Arena)

Please read the following details for each ceremony, including the RSVP process and regalia information.

Thursday, May 8 – Graduate Ceremony NEW THIS YEAR: FACULTY & STUDENT PROCESSION!

  • 5:00-5:45 p.m.: Students check in at the table in Cheel to receive their name cards
  • 5:50 p.m.: Platform Party and Hooding Advisors gather in the lower level of Cheel in the hockey hallway
  • 5:55 p.m.: Platform Party and Advisors process onto the stage
  • 6:00 p.m.: Commencement Ceremony begins (Master’s & Ph.D. graduates)

For the Graduate Ceremony, regalia is required for all Platform Party members, Hooding Advisors, and faculty. Please note that seating for faculty will be reserved and will be located next to the stage.

Saturday, May 10 – Undergraduate Ceremony

  • 1:45 p.m.: Faculty assemble on the sidewalk near Cheel (or inside the lower locker room level in case of inclement weather; watch for announcements if weather is questionable)
  • 2:05 p.m.: Student, Faculty, and Stage Party Procession begins
  • 2:30 p.m.: Commencement Ceremony begins
  • Immediately after: Reception on Main Street

For the Undergraduate Ceremony, regalia is required for all Platform Party members and faculty who will be seated together. Please note that seating for faculty will be reserved and will be located behind the stage.
