Clarkson University Libraries Newsletter, April 2025

The libraries have been busy this month! So far, we have:

  • Re-established reference hours at the Health Sciences Library
  • Made progress on updating and refreshing the library website by:
    • Creating easier website navigation
    • Finding disconnected pages
    • Removing outdated content and fixing broken links
    • This project is ongoing, but we have already made significant progress!
  • Planned launching 24/7 library reference chat starting in May (specifics to be announced soon)

After many years of service, we are sadly saying goodbye to Systems Librarian Peter Morris. His last day will be Friday, May 9th. Stop by the library to wish him well in his future endeavors!

Looking forward, we have several plans for increasing the library’s contributions to students and faculty. These include:

  • Providing a Health Sciences instruction session to Occupational Therapy students in late May/early June
  • Meeting with faculty to assess needs from the library, such as:
    • Instruction sessions for incoming students
    • Short, online instructional videos covering basic library functions and use, posted on the library website
  • Planning upcoming events and programming for Fall 2025

If you have ideas about the future of the library and its operations, please contact Library Director Alex Cohen at acohen@clarkson.edu

Thank you!
