Clarkson University Libraries Newsletter, May 2025

This month, the libraries have:

  • Continued updating and refreshing the library website
  • Prepared for the June 2nd launch of AskUs 24/7, where patrons can contact a librarian at any time for help with research
  • Added and catalogued new books for our Overdrive collection
  • Updated existing library policies and created new ones
  • Attended then Northern New York Regional Library’s Annual Member Meeting to connect with and learn from other libraries in the area
  • Hosted Mama Jack, a therapy dog, during finals week
  • Developed handouts on The Research Process and Advance Searching, available from the Library’s website: Help & Services > Services for Faculty & Staff

Looking forward, we have several plans for increasing the library’s contributions to students and faculty. These include:

  • Providing a Health Sciences instruction session to Occupational Therapy students in early June
  • Meeting with faculty to assess needs from the library, such as:
    • Instruction sessions for incoming students
    • Short, online instructional videos covering basic library functions and use, posted on the library website
  • Planning upcoming events and programming for Fall 2025

If you have ideas about the future of the library and its operations, please contact Library Director Alex Cohen at acohen@clarkson.edu
