“Hi Faculty and Staff Partners,
We hope you’re finding time to rest and reflect this summer! We’re grateful for the work you do to support our students, and we’re working to make the on-campus hiring process easier and more equitable for everyone involved.
Student access to on-campus jobs plays an important role in engagement and retention, and we want to make it as smooth as possible to connect students with meaningful work opportunities.
Here’s how you can help:
To ensure a consistent and fair process, please post any student job openings through the Career Center using the following Google Form: Job Posting Form
What happens next?
- Once your job is submitted, we’ll create a Handshake posting and share the link with you so you can promote it to students.
- You can choose how students apply: via email, your department’s own form, or directly through Handshake.
- If you opt for Handshake, you’ll receive email notifications each time a student applies.
Important Reminders:
- You are responsible for contacting student applicants directly to arrange interviews and to communicate with those not selected.
- Once you’ve made a hire, please provide the student with the required onboarding forms before they begin working:
- For managing and approving student timecards, refer to the Payroll Instructions for Student Workers.
Questions about budgets or hiring?
- For questions about your department’s work-study budget, please contact Regis Quirin (rquirin@clarkson.edu) or Chris Krings (ckrings@clarkson.edu) .
- For any other questions about this process, feel free to reach out to the Career Center—we’re happy to help!
