Dear Clarkson Community,
With the arrival of spring, many members of our Clarkson family look forward to celebrating important holidays with their loved ones and communities. Already, we have seen wonderful examples of home and virtual celebrations, such as with Persian New Year.
While people are working and studying from home, we still need to respect religious observances and to make appropriate accommodations, especially at a time when many will not be able to celebrate these holidays in person with their communities and loved ones. Employees, including student workers, who need to take time off for a religious observance must inform their supervisors. Students can contact the Dean of Students for a note of absence.
There are several holidays this week, such as Easter, Passover, and Buddha Day. And, in the coming weeks, the observances continue with Vaisakhi, Beltane, and Ramadan. For more information, please click on the link https://www.clarkson.edu/religion-and-spirituality This is an educational resource about the many religious holidays celebrated at Clarkson.
We hope the recommended academic will be valuable to those planning course activities, work events, other academic, co-curricular events, and community events. For on-campus food accommodations (contact Bill Masullo, Director of Dining Services for options) being offered. Students should contact diversity@clarkson.edu with questions about reasonable religious accommodations and employees can contact clarksonhr@clarkson.edu, even if we don’t list a holiday being identified as a time of celebration on our website.
Thank you,
Jennifer L. Ball
