Design-Build-Fly recently completed its first successful flight of this year’s prototype aircraft.
The Design-Build-Fly SPEED Team has been working on its aircraft since early September, and the team build its aircraft on September 26 and 27.
The 17-person DBF team plans to compete in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Design Build Fly competition in Tuscon, Arizona on April 15 to 18, 2021.
DBF is an official SPEED team at Clarkson University. The team will design an aircraft to meet mission requirements set forth by AIAA and write a report detailing its chosen design. Following the design choices, the students will build an electric RC plane to bring to the annual competition and compete against other universities from across the world to determine the aircraft best suited for the original mission.
