Join Clarkson’s Microfinance Club

Dear Clarkson Community,
I hope you are enjoying your holidays and staying safe during these difficult times. COVID-19 had a profound impact on the Fall 2020 semester, as such we are looking forward to the Spring semester with cautious optimism as we are planning events and trying to raise awareness for the Microfinance Club. I have provided a brief description of what the club is about and the vision that we have for the Club.

Microfinance provides micro loans to underserved entrepreneurs and small businesses lacking resources to financial institutions. The purpose of the Clarkson University Microfinance club is to serve as an organization that can bring awareness about micro financing and poverty alleviation throughout the world, as well as to fundraise for microloans. This club will benefit Clarkson students by enabling them to become global citizens by taking the knowledge about microfinance and implementing them around the world. In the Microfinance Club, students will research and develop
lending strategies to financially empower unbanked and/or underbanked people around the world. This club will enhance students communication skills, budgeting skills, and their understanding of cultural differences.
Please send an email to the Club’s email address if this is a venture that you like to be a part of.

Microfinance Email: clarksonmicrofinance@gmail.com

Sincerely,
Wisam Aboubaker
Microfinance President
