Congratulations to Clarkson Professor and Director of Engineering & Management Michelle Crimi ’95 and her team for receiving one of the Department of Defense’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program Project of the Year Awards! The award recognizes their work on patented horizontal wells that filter contaminated water underground. READ MORE
Building a Better Luge

Funded with an NSF grant, Clarkson mechanical & aeronautical engineering professors are working with AeroWorks LLC to enhance luge sled aerodynamics. As if helping luge athletes win Olympic gold isn’t enough, the professors are hoping their methodologies can be applied in other industries to improve various vehicle designs. READ MORE
Environmental Defense

National defense is more than protecting the country from external threats; it’s also safeguarding the nation from environmental threats — which is where Clarkson’s Center for Air and Aquatic Resources Engineering & Sciences (CAARES) comes in. The Department of Defense recently accredited CAARES to perform analysis for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, persistent and polluting synthetic chemical compounds. READ MORE
