Recruiting STEM Women Faculty of Color for Oral History Interviews

Dear Faculty,

One of the STEM LEAF Project (Clarkson University’s NSF ADVANCE grant, https://www.clarkson.edu/advance) components is conducting an oral history research project. Although we have reached the planned sample size for white women faculty, we are still recruiting women faculty of color. If you’re interested in participating in or learning more about the oral history project, please take 2 minutes to complete the survey at the link below.

If you are asked to be interviewed we can be very flexible with timing for interviews. The interview can take place after the semester has ended if that’s easiest for your schedule.

The purpose of this survey is to allow you to provide us with four pieces of data (gender, race/ethnicity, number of years at Clarkson University, and discipline) regarding female STEM faculty, so that a pool of potential oral history interview participants may be created.

The STEM LEAF oral history research project will consist of interviews with Clarkson STEM women faculty to deepen our understanding of the experiences of female STEM faculty.

Providing this information will help us create a pool of potential participants for oral history interviews but does not obligate participants in this survey to participate in the oral history interviews. In addition, it is possible that we won’t be able to conduct interviews with everyone who is willing to participate.
