COVID-19 Read; NYS DOH Has Not Changed NYS Mask Protocols

Campus Community

The New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH)  is still evaluating protocols issued yesterday by the CDC regarding mask wearing for fully vaccinated people. Please continue to wear masks inside and when around others who are not in your family unit.

As an institution located in New York, we are governed by New York’s public health policies and executive orders in addition to the CDC.  Until NYS DOH issues new protocols or endorses the CDC’s latest information, the existing mask mandates we have been following in New York remain.

For our own University plans, we are following this topic closely, aligned with our commitment to an in-person experience for learning and working moving forward, with particular considerations for those members of our community who have underlying health conditions that make vaccination inadvisable, those with family members who may still be vulnerable to COVID-19 and for persons with deeply held religious beliefs whereby choosing to be vaccinated is a difficult choice.
