Stefanie Kring Promoted to Associate Professor at Clarkson University

Clarkson University President Tony Collins has announced that Stefanie Kring has been promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Biology on the Teaching Track in the School of Arts & Sciences.

Stefanie received her Master’s (2012) and Ph.D. (2014) from Clarkson in the field of Environmental Science and Engineering. At the beginning of Stefanie’s graduate career, her work focused on studying nutrient and plankton dynamics in the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. Her dissertation focused on the sustainability of algae biodiesel, but she is now turning her focus to educational research. 

Currently, Stefanie is the Executive Officer for the Department of Biology, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE). She is also a co-chair of graduate programs for the ISE. Stefanie served on the Friends of the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center board from 2016 – 2021, and the Vice President of the Board from 2020 – 2021. During this time, Stefanie helped establish a partnership between Clarkson’s ISE and the Nature Center.
