Dr. Dana Barry, of Canton, has a new book about COVID-19 that is published by Springer Nature. The book is titled Studies to Combat COVID-19 using Science and Engineering. This unique book provides excellent examples of ongoing, leading-edge research related to viruses, especially COVID-19. Highlighted topics include the evolution of COVID-19, transmission of virus particles through the air, virus spread through various materials, detection of the virus by testing wastewater, the development and testing of vaccines and therapeutic drugs, and the preparation for future viruses and pandemics. It also contains a chapter about reform in funeral services to properly and safely accommodate very large numbers of bodies in a pandemic.

Dr. Dana Barry is a Research Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Clarkson University, a Professor and Scientific Board President for Ansted University, and a Chemistry Ambassador for the American Chemical Society. She has served as a Visiting Professor overseas numerous times, works part-time for SUNY Canton, and has many honors and over 350 academic publications including 5 Springer textbooks.
