Volunteers wanted for the 8th Annual Potsdam Haunted Infirmary!

Clarkson University’s Physician Assistant program orchestrates a haunted house every Halloween that has become a fairly well-known staple of the town of Potsdam, called the Potsdam Haunted Infirmary.  Each year, the entirety of the money raised through donations and ticket sales is used to buy medical supplies and medicine that is used on the yearly medical mission trip to Nicaragua. Over the program’s spring break from classes, first and second year PA students travel with the supplies that were bought with the raised funds to provide care to an underserved, impoverished part of Nicaragua; last year, over 670 patients were treated. Our goal each year is to raise as much money as possible through donations and ticket sales to provide as much medicine and medical supplies as we can to help those in need.

This year we are looking for individuals who may be interested in volunteering to be an actor/actress in the haunted infirmary or to help with special effects makeup and costuming. Our theme is “Your Worst Nightmare”. Some of the characters you will encounter include zombies, killer clowns, scarecrows, creepy dolls, iconic movie slashers, demon children, ghosts, and more! The 8th Annual Potsdam Haunted Infirmary will take place on Friday, October 28th and Saturday, October 29th at 6:30 PM both nights. It is located at 59 Main St., Potsdam (Clarkson Hall – Health Sciences Building).  If you are interested please contact the planning committee chair Camryn Peets at peetscj@clarkson.edu. Thank you!
