In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act [20 USC 1092(f)], otherwise known as the “Clery Act”, Clarkson University Campus Safety & Security is responsible for simultaneously preparing, publishing and distributing two annual reports (Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report) by October 1 of each year for the purpose of disclosing and disseminating the information, summarized below.
Specific content found in the publication includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Emergency communications (notification systems and policies)
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Fire safety policies and fire statistics
- Crime reporting and disclosure
- Campus safety and security policies and crime statistics
- Crime prevention education and programming
- Sexual violence in its many forms (policy, definitions, interventions, options, resources, crime reporting and disclosure, and more)
- Alcohol and substance abuse information and resources
- Federal, state and local alcohol and drug laws
- Sexual harassment and sexual assault response and education (including domestic violence, dating violence and stalking; options, interventions and (on and off campus) resources; confidentiality and privacy; victims’ rights; victim advocacy; policy and procedures for reporting sexual harassment and sexual assault; procedures for handling reports of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and more)
